Villa solara

Villa Solara is a personal, phased renovation of my own 1980s home that had the kind of bones I immediately wanted to preserve, not replace. Rather than forcing it into something entirely new, the goal is to slowly shape the house into a more layered, collected reflection of how we live.

The design draws heavily from Mediterranean and Spanish influences, with warm woods, aged metals, natural stone, textured fabrics, and architectural details that bring more character and soul to the existing structure. The first phase focuses on furnishings, drapery, and lighting, including relocating fixtures and adding recessed lighting where the original home lacked it. From there, the project will continue into a reimagined backyard with an above-ground pool and entertaining area, followed by future kitchen and bathroom renovations.

Because this is my own home, there is no rush to make everything feel finished at once. Villa Solara is meant to evolve over time by keeping what already feels special, changing what no longer works, and adding layers slowly so the finished home feels gathered, lived-in, and unmistakably ours.
