Residential Project

sunbound retreat

Sunbound Retreat was designed as a warm-weather escape for Canadian homeowners looking to make their Arizona second home feel more functional, inviting, and personal. The focus of the remodel centered on reworking the primary bathroom and closet to better support daily routines, improve flow, and bring a stronger sense of comfort to the home.

The primary bathroom was transformed through a balance of practical planning and elevated materiality — dark maple cabinetry, aged brass plumbing and hardware, honed black pebble flooring, quartzite surfaces, soft creamy walls, and textural tile details all work together to create a space that feels grounded, collected, and calm. Every decision was made with intention, from the vanity storage and lighting placement to the shower layout, makeup vanity, and layered details that make the room feel complete.

In the closet, the goal was to maximize function within a unique existing footprint. Storage was thoughtfully planned to include a mix of hanging space, drawers, shelving, jewelry storage, appliance access, and daily-use zones, while still maintaining a warm and cohesive connection to the rest of the primary suite.

The result is a primary suite that feels less like a standard remodel and more like a true retreat — practical, tailored, and rooted in the feeling of coming home.
